infomercials
December 14, 2010
Do you get sucked in to infomercials? I find each one more ridiculous than the next. For example:
The Peeler
Luis: This is absurd! Who peels potatoes with a KNIFE???
Natalia: I’ve done it a million times! It is really not that difficult. In fact, I don’t think my mom even owns a potato peeler!
Luis: Oh…
The Pasta Pro
Natalia: I do have to say, this one does seem very useful. However, it kills me that they pour all the pasta down the sink to show how useful the pasta pro can be. Have these people never heard of a colander?
My lil’ Reminder
Luis: Ooooh!! This one is my favorite!
Natalia: You can either choose to buy this little devise, or you can choose to use a paper and pen to record your every need.
The Express 101
Natalia: A few years ago, Luis became obsessed with this infomercial and was convinced he needed a GT Express. He kept telling me that if he had a GT Express, he would cook ALL THE TIME. Well last Christmas Luis discovered that his mom had a GT Express, and he talked her into giving it to us as one of our gifts. It has been almost an entire year, and not only have we NEVER used it, I don’t even know where Luis put it.
The OrGREENic
Natalia: I’ve been frying eggs for many, many years, and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve EVER had eggs stick to the pan like they show at the beginning of the infomercial.

We’ve got a pasta pro…..except we only used it, the way the commercial said, ONCE. The thing’s a piece of junk that doesn’t strain like a colander.
That is quite possible the best acting I’ve seen since Disney channel’s been “re-modeled” for the youth of today. Dunno why they never made it in show business.
P.S. we have a potato peeler….it cuts us more than the knife.

I LOVE infomercials!! And much to my husband’s chagrin I can watch them all the time! My favorites are the steamers…because I like to see all the different uses for them and am always in awe at how well they clean grout!! (But alas, I don’t own a steamer). I do own (or did own until I threw it out) a Magic Bullet that we got as a wedding present (I was SO excited to get it) and I used it a lot since we didn’t own a regular blender…I have since realized that a regular blender is more practical and effective…but I still love the idea of these amazing products that can save us from ourselves!!

1) the pasta pro thing. My 2 favorite parts are the very beginning when the past is being dumped out in the sink, what a moron…2, how about that loser dad pointing to his watch at dinner time? In reality, if a dad were to do that, he’d instantly get a flying punch to the face…am I right?
2) If you want to talk about informercials being lame, there is one that is absolutely AWESOME:

Just click and watch….enough said. The slap chop (the better version of the infomercial).
P.S. Can you guys do a dedicated post for the above video? And make sure that you give me props for sending the link :)

I do not like this word, but right now I think is very appropriate, the majority of these infomercials I “hate” them.
Are they call us stupid? Because this is the way I saw those that put these thing together. Waw! now you have seen my outrage about infomercials. But tell you the truth, I change the channel every time one of these absurd infomercial comes up. I refuse to watch them.

Classic. I love the fact that the ‘My lil’ reminder’ comes with a light. I do want to know where that guy was eating that it was so dark he needed a light to read the menu.

I love infomercials! I want the peeling gloves! have you seen the egg cracker?…Because most people can’t crack an egg the right way. The As Seen On TV section of the store is my favorite.
