please explain

Can someone please explain to me why it is that the organic Gerber baby food has so many random ingredients, and the non-organic does not?

I started out making Graciela’s baby food. However, sometimes we don’t eat anything for dinner that I can just mash or put in the food processor for her. So I figured I needed some backups for such times. I’ve been trying to stick to things that don’t have tons of preservatives in them, because I really don’t see why a baby should have that kind of junk in their system, but this is baffling.

That’s just plain scary! Seriously, that makes no sense.
How in the world can that be?
I have to check all labels of anything I eat because I have a severe allergy to MSG. I’m still amazed at some of the stuff I see listed on things, not to mention some of the words I can’t even pronounce!

It looks like the ingredients in the organic carrots(tuna oil, choline bitartrate, and alpha tocopheryl acetate) are perhaps used to boost it’s nutritious value and the gelatin is perhaps used to bind everything together. You can buy fish oil, choline bitartrate, and alpha tocopheryl acetate as health supplements. The tuna oil maybe concerning if it has mercury in it. I’m not sure why they felt they had to add them to the organic carrots vs. the non organic. Maybe the organic carrot variety they use is easier to grow without pesticides, but is not as nutritious as the non organic carrot variety? I wonder if you could get some answers by emailing Gerber?
