So just before Christmas, I received a call from our landlord letting me know that our pipes would need to be replaced. Something about a class action law suit. So they came, checked things out, and scheduled an appointment to start the 4-day long process. So a couple of weeks ago, we had to move literally everything we own out of its place and they finally got started. After their first day of working on our places, nearly every single wall/ceiling in our house looked something like this:

Unfortunately, they started on a Friday and did not come back until Monday (which happened to be a holiday). This meant that we spent that Saturday, Sunday, and Monday trying to stay out as much as possible (doing fun things like hanging out at Wal-Mart) to keep Graciela from messing with the holes.

By the time Monday evening came around, we had pretty much had it. None of us had a descent night’s sleep in days. On top of that, Graciela hadn’t been napping properly, which was making her start to get close to unbearable. Luis and I had been toying with the decision to get a hotel all weekend long. Did we really want to spend the money? Were we just being babies about getting up at 6 a.m. day after day and not having anything left to do? But when the workers told us that Tuesday was going to be an extra long day, our choice was clear. Hotel it was.

Best $80 we ever spent!
