Web Stuff

hilarity (in case you haven’t seen it yet)

name your favorite blogger

I currently have 552 blogs on my Google Reader. Out of those, I really only read the content of maybe a dozen every day. I comment on only one or two, depending on the content and whether I think the person is going to think I’m a total creeper for commenting on their blog. As far as subject matter is concerned, I subscribe to a little of everything: daily updates on the world of gymnastics (I love gymnastics), super popular bloggers, real life friends, acquaintances from the past, Brazilian blogs, and the list goes on and on. Despite all of this content, lately I’ve been wanting something new/interesting to read. What do you read on a daily, or at least a semi-regular basis?

Fresh Prince of Downton Abbey

It seems as though Downton Abbey has been a bit of a craze amongst late-adopting Americans recently. Personally, I love the show. Imagine my surprise when College Humor (which is comprised of mostly geeky/techy MALE comedians, who normally wouldn’t be into these types of shows) produced the following parody video:

Do you watch Downton Abbey?

Hangout

Earlier this week, I received “urgent” messages from my siblings to have a “merino sibling conference call” … to discuss…… well, turned out to be nothing, really.

We decided to use Google Plus’ hang out service (which is awesome by the way). Even though there wasn’t much to talk about, we sure did have a good time:

I can’t wait until a week from today, when the three of us will be reunited once more!

The SoNet vs. the AccBill

Earlier this month I finished reading The Accidental Billionaires, the novel written by Ben Mezrich on which the film The Social Network is based.

I absolutely loved The Social Network and to be honest, I’m not exactly sure why. It could be the excellent script… or the stellar acting… possibly the amazing musical score… or is it the story itself– a college no-one invents something that changes the world… a no-one who was born only weeks after myself.

Although the novel was well-written and entertaining on its own, my first reaction was that it lacked a lot of the background I was hoping to find. But as I’m typing this, I’m not quite sure what it was I was hoping to find. The novel did go slightly further in depth and was probably more anchored in reality, but it still left me wanting to know more.

Regardless, the novel was a truly entertaining read– that was unfortunately spoiled the excellent movie.

For Flavio – SLAPchop

Here’s what Flavio had to say in response to Natalia’s post on infomercials:

Flavio, here is your dedicated post to this awesome video (albeit, late):
