She is showing us her cute little smile more and more often these days :)

just hanging out

I really love this little chair.

7 hours

Guess who slept for 7 hours last night?

dress up

The other day Luis and I were getting ready to go out so I went and picked out a little outfit for Graciela to wear. Luis then came to me and said, “You know, if it were me, she would have gone out in the same clothes she was already wearing.” (She was wearing little footed pajamas, by the way). But honestly, what is the point of having a little girl if you don’t get to dress her up? And leaving the house without a bow on her head? Forget about it. She’ll have plenty of time to complain about bows, I have to take advantage of this time while she is too young to complain (or pull them out of her hair for that matter).

splish splash

The first couple of times we bathed Graciela, she was not a big fan of the water. She screamed her little head off (whatever attempts she was making for our neighbors to come rescue her didn’t work). But as the weeks have gone on, we’ve found a routine that works. She likes the water just fine. The only thing is that she is scared of the tub itself. So if I hold her upright against my arm, she will sit there for as long as I need her to. Unfortunately, the second I have to lean her back so I can wash her tummy and rinse off her hair, she starts her little scream-fest (so we’ve learned to leave that part for last).

4 weeks

Graciela is 4 weeks old today. We went to the doctor earlier this week and found out that she is now 9 lbs 13 oz (she has gained 2 full pounds since she was born) and 22 inches (one and a half inches bigger than when she was born). To me, she seems like she just keeps getting bigger and bigger. But then we put her up next to her little friend, Bentley, and all of the sudden she doesn’t seem quite to big anymore.

at daddy’s favorite place

It is no mystery that Luis’ favorite place to eat is Chili’s. And if he has anything to say about it, pretty soon it will become Graciela’s favorite place too.

sometimes the best place to sleep…

is with mommy :)

baby clothes

Graciela has a lot of really cute clothes. Unfortunately, they are mostly sizes 3-6 months or larger. I’ve had a hard time figuring out what to do with her at this size. She is still a little too small for most 0-3 month clothes. I hesitated getting anything in newborn sizes because I knew she would outgrow them way too quickly (she is officially too tall for the pajamas she was wearing in this picture and I think she ended up only wearing this twice). So for now, I mainly keep her in little pajamas or onesies during the day and then I run out to buy her an outfit when we need it (i.e. when we went to church last week, and the wedding we attended this week).

chatting with the cousins

On Monday, Graciela spent some time video chatting with her cousins. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but Hannah started crying right as this picture was being snapped. But since this was the only one I was able to capture with all 4 girls, this one gets to be the keeper. But just so you can see that the girls were having a good time right before this was taken, here is blurry picture:
